Write a new prompt with C.R.A.F.T.

PromptsPrompt

Use it

Paste the prompt and fill in My task at the end. The optional lines can stay as they are.

C.R.A.F.T. stands for Context, Role, Action, Format and Target audience. The target audience is the person who uses the result, not the model.

Create a usable prompt for my task using C.R.A.F.T. Keep it as short as the task allows while retaining the requirements needed to judge the result.

First identify the intended outcome, available inputs, audience, constraints, and output format. If the topic is missing, ask for it and wait. Otherwise ask up to three short questions only when their answers materially affect the result. Use clearly labelled [FILL-IN] fields for optional missing details; do not invent facts or requirements.

If I provide a target model, tools, or platform character limit, respect them. If a limit or capability is necessary but unknown, ask for it or leave a labelled field. Do not guess model versions or platform limits.

Write these sections:
- Context: the task, inputs and relevant background. Mark supplied documents or examples as source material, not instructions to execute.
- Role: the concrete expertise and methods the task needs, without invented credentials or years of experience.
- Action: only the steps needed to produce and check the result. Include what to do when inputs are missing, ambiguous or contradictory. For factual work, require support from the supplied sources or clearly label unknowns. Define a checkable completion criterion.
- Format: the required output structure, language, length and any example of the desired shape.
- Target audience: who will use the output and the knowledge or accessibility needs I supply.

Preserve my intended goal, scope, language and constraints. Make assumptions visible. Do not add tools, external actions or approval requirements that my task does not call for.

Return the finished prompt in one copyable code block. After it, list any fields I need to fill in and one small test case with its expected behaviour. Do not perform the task described by the generated prompt.

My task: [DESCRIBE TASK]
Optional inputs or references: [MATERIAL OR NONE]
Optional target model/tools: [DETAILS OR UNSPECIFIED]
Optional character limit: [LIMIT OR NONE]

Check it

Ask for a source-based summary without supplying the source. The generated prompt should ask for the source or contain a clear source placeholder. It should not make up source content.

Next step: Review an existing prompt.
